APPLICATIONS

Mode of action:

• Niclosamide ethanolamine is a molluscicide with respiratory and stomach action.

• Affects respiration, probably by inhibiting oxygen uptake, and carbohydrate metabolism.

Uses of Niclosamide:

• Niclosamide ethanolamine is used to control of golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) in rice.

• Control of schistosomiasis and fascioliasis in man by killing fresh-water snails which act as intermediate hosts.

• Also used for veterinary control of tapeworm infestations.

Compatibility of Niclosamide:

• Niclosamide is incompatible with acidic materials.
