Application |
Mode of Action:
Imazamox is branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) inhibitor.
Selectivity in soya beans and peanuts is attributed to rapid detoxification via demethylation and glycosylation.
Imazamox is a pre-emergence or post-emergence herbicide, with contact and residual activity, absorbed through both foliage and roots, and translocated to growing points. Plants wilt and turn brown.
Imazamox is readily absorbed by foliage and translocated throughout the plant.
Usage of Imazamox:
Imazamox is primarily an early post-emergence treatment, the optimum timing for applications being to weeds with 1-4 leaves.
Post-emergence herbicide absorbed through both foliage and roots and translocated to growing points. Plants wilt and turn brown.
The active ingredient is sometimes formulated as the ammonium salt.
The ammonium salt of Imazamox is a broad-spectrum herbicide, which can be applied either pre-emergence or post-emergence for control of weeds in maize, rape, alfalfa, peas and beans.
For pre-emergence application, a combination with a complementary residual compound is usual in crops tolerant to imazamox, such as 'Clearfield' wheat, rape and sunflowers.
Imazamox also has some residual activity. Weeds die within 6 weeks of treatment.
Application rates is 0.032-0.05 lb/a.
