Application

Mode of Action:

  • Kresoxim-methyl is a broad-spectrum fungicide.

  • Kresoxim-methyl is a fungicide with protective, curative, eradicative and long residual disease control; Kresoxim-methyl acts by inhibiting spore germination. Redistribution via the vapour phase contributes to activity.

  • Kresoxim-methyl is a quinone outside Inhibitor, which inhibits mitochondrial respiration by blocking electron transfer between cytochrome b and cytochrome c1, at the ubiquinol oxidising site.

  • Selectivity is partly due to enzymic de-esterification within plants.

Usage of Kresoxim-methyl:

  • Kresoxim-methyl has preventative and curative activity, but has little or no systemic activity.

  • Kresoxim-methyl will primarily be used as a foliar treatment and has particular activity against diseases of the leaf surface, such as powdery mildew (Erysiphe spp).

  • Kresoxim-methyl has a strong affinity for the waxy plant surface, adhering strongly under differing climatic conditions.

  • Kresoxim-methyl diffuses laterally over the leaf surface after application, and provides translaminar control of disease on the untreated leaf surface.

  • Kresoxim-methyl has residual activity lasting 2-6 weeks, depending on crop and disease.

  • Kresoxim-methyl controls scab in apples and pears (Venturia spp.); powdery mildew on apples (Podosphaera leucotricha), vines (Uncinula necator), cucurbits (Sphaerotheca fuliginea) and sugar beet (Erysiphe betae); mildew (Erysiphe graminis), scald (Rhynchosporium secalis), net blotch (Pyrenophora teres) and glume blotch (Septoria nodorum) on cereals; and mildew (Leveillula taurica, Erysiphe spp., Alternaria spp.) on vegetables.
