  • Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate is the most typical form of sodium metasilicate in the varieties, the formula is Na2SiO3.5H2O.

  • Pentahydrate sodium metasilicate is white powder or crystalline granules.

  • Pentahydrate sodium metasilicate is non-toxic, tasteless and environment-safe.

  • Pentahydrate sodium is easy soluble in water, alcohol or acid, producing an alkaline solution.

  • Pentahydrate sodium metasilicate has the general characteristics of sodium silicate and sodium metasilicate, calcium and magnesium ions are bound ability, especially for the combination of magnesium ions capacity.

  • Anhydrous sodium metasilicate with formula Na2SiO3, dissolves fast, won't appear vitrification phenomenon.

  • Anhydrous sodium metasilicate in some areas of application performance is better than that of hydrated silica. 

  • Anhydrous sodium metasilicate has the capabilities of removing scale, emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, penetrating, and also has the capability of buffering PH value.

Uses:

  • Sodium metasilicate has the strong capability of cleaning, widely used for the manufacture of a variety of detergents in detergent industry; it is the best substitute for STPP, reducing environmental pollution.

  • Sodium metasilicate provides anti-corrosion protection to metals (zinc, aluminum, etc.), which is used as metal cleaner and metal surface treatment agents.

  • In textile industry, Sodium metasilicate is mainly used as printing and dyeing auxiliaries, fabric pre-treatment agent and as detergents in cooking and dyeing cotton yarn.

  • In paper & printing industry, Sodium metasilicate can be used as adhesives, old paper deinking agent, paper surface treatment agent and printing detergent.

  • In ceramic industry, Sodium metasilicate is used for sludge thinners, which is especially suitable for additives used in slip-casting forming and ceramic forming.

  • In metallurgical industry, Sodium metasilicate is used as inhibitors and dispersing agent of silicon-containing minerals, smelting furnace dispersants, fast-drying agents, and foundry and separating agents.

  • In construction field, Sodium metasilicate is used for concrete dispersion agent and hardening accelerator. It is also used as coagulation accelerator.
