Application

Descriptions:

  • Glyoxal is an organic compound with the chemical formula OCHCHO.

  • Glyoxal is a colorless to yellow liquid with a weak sour odor.

  • Vapor of glyoxal has a green color and burns with a violet flame.

  • Glyoxal is the smallest dialdehyde (two aldehyde groups).

  • Like other small aldehydes, glyoxal forms hydrates. Furthermore, the hydrates condense to give a series of oligomers.

  • Aqueous solution of glyoxal is transparent light yellow liquid.

  • Glyoxal can be dissolved with water, slightly soluble in ethanol, aether, insoluble in esters aromatic solvents.

Uses:

  • In textile industry, Glyoxal is mainly used as the agent for finishing clothing, 2D resin and M2D resin.

  • In medical industry, Glyoxal is mainly used for the special ring imidazole drugs such as metronidazole, dimetridazole, imidazole, etc.

  • In paper industry, Glyoxal can be used for sizing, wet strength increased resistance of paper.

  • In polymer chemistry, Glyoxal is a very effective solubilizer for cross-linking.

  • In construction industry, Glyoxal is used as cement curing agent to improve the solidification strength, as a control landslides, can prevent the loss of mud to prevent the collapse.

  • In synthesis industry, Glyoxal can be used to produce glyoxylate, D-hydroxyphenylglycine, allantoin, benzene Enzyme pharynx, berberine, etc.

  • Glyoxal can be also used for pest control agent, deodorant, body preservatives, sand mould curing agent.
