Descriptions:

• Benzyl alcohol is a colorless transparent sticky liquid with a mild pleasant aromatic odor. 

• Benzyl alcohol is partially soluble in water and completely miscible in alcohols, diethyl ether chloroform, etc.

• Benzyl alcohol is one of the simplest fatty alcohol containing phenyl.

• Due to its polarity, low toxicity and low steam, Benzyl alcohol is used as alcohol solvent.

• Benzyl alcohol should not be stored for a long time. It can be slowly oxidized to benzaldehyde and anisole in the air. Therefore benzyl alcohol products often smell like almond aroma with characteristic of benzaldehyde.

• In addition, benzyl alcohol is also easily oxidized to benzoic acid by many kinds of antioxidants such as nitric acid.

Uses:

• Benzyl alcohol can be used as raw materials and fixatives of spice.

• Benzyl alcohol can be used as pharmaceutical raw materials and anesthetics, preservatives, coloring additives, coatings and solvent of inks.
